There was a proud moment for Leaside’s Sarah Byford this Canada Day long weekend. She was given the opportunity to assist World War II Veteran, Bill Martin as he threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Blue Jays game on June 30th, 2019. Watch the video below! More than two dozen residents of Sunnybrook’s Veterans Centre attended the game and were provided all the perks of sitting in the Jays Care Community Clubhouse Box seats.
