Leonard goes home to LA, pal Green also leaves the Raptors

Kawhi Leonard will sign with the NBA Los Angeles Clippers in a deal that also strips Danny Green from the Raptors squad. Leonard was born and grew up in California. Leonard decided to join the Clippers after Los Angeles pulled off a stunning transaction to also get Paul George from the Oklahoma City Thunder. Leonard’s contract with Clippers will be worth $142 million (all figures US) over four years – not the five-year, $190 million deal he could have received from the Raptors – and his departure also cost Toronto the services of free agent forward Danny Green. Green was inextricably linked to Leonard in Toronto and he’s taking a two-year, $25 million deal from the Los Angeles Lakers.

TORY SAYS THANKS BUT NO MERCY WHEN YOU COME BACK

Mayor Tory tweeted thanks to Leonard Saturday but vowed that the Clippers will be in for fight when they visit Toronto. Anguish, moaning on Twitter
