Grief, anger as friends, Councillors react to Yonge St. fatal

This City News report summarizes the grief felt by friends and family of the woman killed Tuesday at Yonge St. and Erskine Ave. when she was struck by a cement truck. The impromptu scrum held by Councillors Colle, Matlow and Robinson decries the heavy construction traffic on Midtown streets. But there is little specificity in any reporting or, as yet, from the police about exactly how this death occurred except that the victim was hit and dragged by the truck. Things such as right of way, speed, distractions if any and line of sight should really be considered before too many conclusions are drawn.
