CGS kids learn civic duty as they elect student government

General election day is Monday and at CGS in Leaside students are well aware of their civic duty to vote. That’s why they’ll be electing their student government on the same day as their moms and dads help elect a new federal government. Excitement is building in the halls at CGS as the race is on. Students in Grades 1 to 3 are hoping to become Mayor, Deputy Mayor or Class Councillor. Candidates are campaigning with colourful, inventive posters and preparing speeches to present to their peers. In the process, they’re to be part off the process of creating good, responsible government. CGS will be voting on Monday and they’re hoping you will be too.
