Refused entry, dearest cousin and martyr to freedom in Iran

Jaklyn De Vos (left) of Vancouver is one of many Canadians living the rocky new US-Canada relationship. These days it’s as if Uncle Sam is saying “do I know you fella?” Long gone is the friendly welcome-neighbor attitude at border crossings. Then, newswoman Cristina Howorun tells the story of her cousin, Christine Hodgkinson, who donated a kidney to help the City News reporter live. At right is Sahar Khodaya the Iranian woman who fatally burned herself in protest against the oppression of women in Iran. Now, the government there has eased restrictions on women attending football games and there is much celebration.
