Crash at Rumsey/Eglinton reportedly caused by stolen SUV

Michelle McDonald has posted to Facebook that the accident Saturday morning at Eglinton Ave. and Rumsey Rd. was caused when a stolen black SUV ran a red light. She wrote: “Ok so this our client’s husband who was hit by a stolen vehicle that went through a red light. She was getting her hair done when this happened. I quickly drove her to the scene of the accident and she got into the ambulance with her husband.”

Took child out of car to steal it

Ms. McDonald adds that the occupants of the SUV fled on foot to another vehicle nearby and “they were taking a boy out of the car so they could steal that car to leave quickly (when) luckily the father saw as he was on the phone with 911 and the man and woman fled! They are on the loose in Leaside.” FB

  1. Hi Michelle,
I was driving South on Rumsey and was able to stop in the middle of the intersection or they would have hit me instead. Do you have any news on how your client’s husband is doing?
    Thanks so much
    Kathleen
