Shops in north block as seen in first decade of the 21st Century/Scott Steele
Area artist Scott Steele has posted a nostalgic painting of two stores in the north block of South Bayview Ave. to Leaside Community Facebook. They show Trae Zammit’s Smokin’ Cigar and the late Leo Cornacchia’s barbershop. Over the years, Smokin’ Cigar moved two doors north and then south to 1540 Bayview Ave. Mr. Cornacchia died in 2016.
