Cops rescue child as disturbed man leaps into ready TFS net

Police engaged in a high-risk intervention and rescue at a home near Albion Rd. and Arcot Blvd. early Sunday when a mentally disturbed man was holding a child out a third-floor window. The incident is sparsely described so far. But officers were able to pull the child away from the man before he leaped to the ground. Remarkably, Toronto Fire was there with a net and the man was safely taken into custody. All of this about 1 a.m. not far from the pleasant corner shown above in a file photo.
