Eleven men charged in GTA car theft ring, 52 vehicles seized

Eleven men have been arrested as police in the GTA break up a large car theft ring. As many as 52 units were recovered. The target vehicles were Honda CRVs and Accords, Toyota Highlanders and Corollas, Range Rovers and Lexus SUVs. The men were charged by York Region Police who called the investigation Project Victory. The cars and SUVs were destined for Africa. The accused are named as Frank Victor, 31, of Vaughan, Miguel Russell, 48, of Toronto, Maxwell Asante, 35, of Brampton, Gavin Persaud, 22, of Toronto, Kevin Shamlall, 19, of Toronto, Karran Persaud, 20, of Toronto, Afzal Gulmahamad, 24, of Toronto, Emanuel Binful, 36, of Oakville, Rajkumar Singh, 46, of Toronto, Stanley Udeh, 39, of Toronto and Festus Nwobodo, 45, of Toronto.
