GM-Honda shake on non-binding North American alliance

General Motors and Honda have agreed on what’s being called a non-binding agreement to form an alliance in North America. Nobody is sure just what it may mean but for a start, you may see some GM work sneaking into Honda plants like the one in Aliston. Honda is not organized by the Canadian Auto Workers. One story Thursday speculated about “a Civic-based Chevrolet Cruze revival.” Fun but fanciful. Others hint this could pave the way for a firmer North American alliance.
