Witnesses vivid account of fatal crash at Woodbine Beach

An evening new release from the TPS says that the fatality in Thursday afternoon’s boat crash at Woodbine Beach was a man of 47, one of six passengers in the vessel. It is described as a 20-foot bowrider craft, one that has seating in the bow. Police say the operator of the boat, a man of 46, was the seventh person aboard. He is said to have lost control of the boat as it approached rocks some 90 feet offshore. The operator and remaining passengers received non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision. This area of the waterfront was busy at the time and police are asking anyone who may have seen the collision or have video footage to contact them. There were witnesses who may have spoken to the media who have not yet spoken to the police. These people are encouraged to come forward. (416) 808-1900.
