The Ministry of Health reports 841 new cases of C-19 on Thursday, marking the second-highest daily total since the pandemic began. Toronto remains the brutal hotspot of the province with 335 cases, Peel Region is next with 162, followed by York Region with 106, and Ottawa with 72. Health officials say 714 people have recovered from the virus, marking the fourth straight day that new cases have outpaced the number of people who have recovered. Some 38,860 tests were done in the 24 hour period ending at midnight.
Scarborough General C-19 outbreak
The Scarborough General Hospital says six patients are infected in one of its units. SGH joins St. Michael’s Hospital, St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Toronto Western Hospital and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health battling outbreaks among staff or patients.
