Young goat seen with mother at Riverdale Farm/TPS
Thieves have stolen a kid goat from Riverdale Farm on Winchester St. The theft occurred at the Cabbagetown public farm sometime Wednesday or Thursday. The three-month-old animal is named Juniper. It has an identical twin which was not stolen. The creature weighs 30 lbs. with black and silver fur, brown legs and white ears. Detective Constable Graham Ellis from 51 Division’s Major Crime Unit said the Riverdale Farm staff are understandably upset and concerned about Juniper who, they say, would not leave the pen without her mother and would have likely cried out during the incident. “We’d urge anyone who knows anything about this incident to contact us immediately so we can find her and safely return her to the farm,” he said.
