Buses crowd Mt. Pleasant as Yonge useless with bike dream

The dream of single-lane car traffic accompanied by bicycle lanes on Yonge St. reduced Toronto’s main drag to a useless construction zone Saturday. The work coincided with the closure of eight stations on the Yonge line forcing heavy articulated shuttle buses to use Mt. Pleasant Rd.

The issue of re-making Yonge St and in particular the mass confusion of Saturday’s events are a social media subject for many.

  1. Yes. But not everyone. There are people in favor of this — even if the car people can’t grasp or accept it.
