The closure of Line 1 between Finch Ave. and St Clair Ave this weekend (June 19 and 20) has seen articulated TTC shuttle buses pounding up Mt. Pleasant early Saturday. Readers may draw their own conclusions about why the buses aren’t on Yonge St. Bicycle lane installation continues there. This last change has seen heated social media complaints.

The two lanes "experiment" on Yonge is already a disaster. This is insane. I live on Summerhill Ave and I can't get anywhere! Yonge is my only egress. Same for Woodlawn & Shaftesbury. Did anyone consider us? Emergency vehicles couldn't get to us if needed!— LJ Andrews VO (@THELamontJames) June 17, 2021
Maybe… *don't* paint bike lanes on Yonge *and* have the subway shut down, all on the same weekend?
