Mad rush to quit Aghanistan as human, terror horrors loom

President Biden has rebuffed appeals from G7 leaders to stay in Kabul, the Afghan capital, long enough to get refugees out of the newly conquered country. His answer: “The sooner we can finish the better.”  He said that “each day brings added risk to our troops” and warned of the growing threat of an attack from ISIS-K — ISIS in Afghanistan — on the Kabul airport. All of this is what has the world deeply concerned for further suppression of personal freedoms, the abuse of women and the creation of a simmering new centre for terrorist plotting. Will coming months see horrors even worse than those of 9-11? It isn’t silly to worry about another convulsion of young men on a mission to kill for God.
