C-19 creep mainly in unvaxed as we inch towards reopening

Ontario’s slow progress towards a reopened and unmasked world has seen daily cases of C-19 creep upwards. The government announced Sunday’s count at 1,184, the highest single-day number in six months. The charts above show how the unvaccinated are bearing the brunt of this resurgence. Vaccinated people, comprising more than 75 percent of the population, are also continuing to fall ill but, as the ICU chart seems to show, they are more able to fight off the worst symptoms.

Toronto cases down but everywhere

The interactive map of Toronto cases reflects both the success of vaccination and the impact of closer contact because of reopening. These factors show that C-19 is everywhere but in a fewer number of cases. To see the current status, click “cases” at Select Map.
