The inaugural Viva La Leaside Festival, held August 31st – September 1st, 2024 on Commercial Road in the Leaside Business Park, was a fantastic celebration of heritage and community spirit. Hosted by Motorista Studio and the Leaside Heritage Preservation Society, the event featured live bands, a DJ, classic cars, graffiti artists, games for kids, and much more. Families enjoyed delicious BBQ, empanadas, lemonade, and ice cream while engaging in various activities, like hula-hooping, playing arcade games and taking pictures with the iconic Sunnybrook clock. Organizers are expecting as many as 119 people for the inaugural dinner meeting of the newly-founded Leaside 100 Lions Club Saturday.
