The winning ticket for Saturday’s Lotto 649 jackpot was sold somewhere in Toronto, according to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG). The jackpot was worth $6 million on Saturday, June 4. A second-place ticket – worth just over $100,000 – was also sold in Toronto, according to OLG. An additional encore ticket worth $100,000 went to a Toronto lottery player.

A Toronto family is heartbroken after their four-year-old dog died after allegedly being left in a vehicle for several hours while in the care of a dog walker. Now, the family has learned it’s not the first time it’s happened. The dog walker picked up the couple’s dog, Chilly, from their High Park home around 1:30 p.m. The dog, a Samoyed breed, was supposed to be returned around 3:30 p.m., but that didn’t happen. It was after calling the dog walker the owners said, that they learned he had forgotten the animal in the car.
It seems like it had to happen. The use of the roadway for dining patios on main commercial routes like the Danforth, is colliding with established special events like Taste of the Danforth. Organizers of that event say all that infrastructure is eating up much-needed space, creating logistical challenges for staging the festival. Global News

It appears the Tories will collect more than 80 seats. Both Liberal Leader Steven DelDuca and NDP leader Andrea Horwath have resigned their party leaderships. It appears that merchants may now apply for a credit against money they paid to credit card companies for many years through this century. The action was begun by the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) ten years ago and has recently been settled.
