Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper at St. Cuthbert’s Feb 13th

Indulge in a delicious Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper at St. Cuthbert’s, Leaside, on February 13, 2024, from 5:30 pm to 7:15 pm. All are welcome!

Why Shrove Tuesday and What’s with the Pancakes?

Shrove Tuesday marks the traditional feast day before the beginning of Lent on Ash Wednesday. As Lent was historically a time of fasting, Christians would go to confession and be “shriven” (absolved) on Shrove Tuesday. This feast day served as the last opportunity to use up eggs, fats, and sugar before the Lenten fast, making pancakes the perfect culinary choice for the occasion.

Reserve your spot by calling 416-485-0329 or on stcuthbertsleaside.com.

Did someone say PUPPIES?

The Sleuth of Baker Street has sent out a reminder to stop by their bookstore at 907 Millwood Road on Saturday, November 18th 2023 at 1pm, and meet some future Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guide (LFCDG) puppies — a most adorable cluster of furry kids. 🐶❤️

Learn about the great work the puppies and the Lions Foundation are doing. When you’re done gushing over the puppies, not too much slobbering and kissing, please, they are in training after all, consider supporting the funding for Service Dogs by purchasing an adorable 2024 Puppy Wall Calendar ($18) or by making a donation to the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides. Head over to sleuthofbakerstreet.ca for more details and a link to the Lion’s donation page.
