“As a retired high school Physical and Health education teacher, I was looking for a place that could not only offer me a monthly massage for body maintenance and, to relax my mind but, also a place that could tend to sport injuries in case the need occur. Upon a visit to Leaside Village at 85 Laird Dr., I noticed a Hand and Stone Massage and Facial Spa that caught my eye. I entered the Spa and, my first impression was excellent, what I expected from a business located in Leaside. The place was clean, organized and, looked professional. The staff was terrific not only in greeting me but, took their time to explain their operation and, the cost but, also answered my questions in regards to sport injuries and, how their massage therapists were skilled to treating such injuries. Within 15 minutes, I not only felt very comfortable but, also knew that I had found the right place to take care of my needs.
I always enjoyed a monthly maintenance massage as I am still active at the gym for my workouts and, playing hockey twice a week. Not only was my body in need for a massage to help with some minor aches and, pains but, a good massage was also, good for my mental state and, Hand and Stone at Leaside delivered. No matter who the massage therapist happen to be, I always received an excellent massage. The massage therapists were not just skillful but, they also had great knowledge when it came to treatment of some of my injuries due to playing hockey and, this is what I was grateful for, their knowledge and, skill.
The time came when I began suffering from a condition called Piriformis Syndrome. The piriformis muscle is located in the lower back area that becomes inflamed and, pushes down on the sciatic nerve to cause some major pain located in the buttocks near the top of the hip joint. This condition made it very difficult to skate not just because of the pain but, my right leg was losing strength and, I had no push off from my right leg. Not a good scenario for a hockey player.
I brought this problem to Leaside Hand and Stone and, their massage therapists delivered. Many thanks to Joanna and, Chris who have worked very hard to get me back into shape and, to correct my problem.
their skills in massage therapy were wonderful and, their hard work began to pay off. I am very grateful that I found Leaside Hand and Stone. As I said earlier, their business is highly professional and, their massage therapists are skillful and, knowledgeable and, within some time, they had me back up on my skates and, I was able to skate without pain and, back to playing hockey.
I must be honest and say that physio, acupuncture and, especially the deep tissue massages that I received were all part of my treatments to get my lower back and right leg back into shape tp play hockey again, but, it was the massages that I received and, still do receive from Leaside Hand and Stone that were the icing on the cake and, for that, I am very gratful to the owners, their staff and, the massage therapists for their concern and, their professionalism in regards to the treatments that I have received.
