Police out to shut down Leaside graffiti scribbler “MCM”

Toronto Police 53 Division is out to get MCM, the Leaside area graffiti culprit who is defacing local property. It is MCM who scribbled all over the Hydro box on Millwood Rd. at Sutherland Drive. Now we have more (inset). Police say they have received information that there is a witness to this crime, and that this witness has detailed descriptions of the suspect. If you have information on the suspect or have witnessed this crime, please call the 53 Division Community Response Unit, 416-808-5319, ask for the Graffiti Officer. In order to combat this crime, 53 Division CRU Officers have worked with Police Youth Employee Baqir Syed to paint over these tags to improve the community. Many area residents like East York yoga instructor Cheryl Vanderburg complain of the graffiti on social media. By the way, what are your initials?

Man under arrest for theft of $19,000 high-speed bicycle

53 Division officers have arrested Chitranjan Boyal, 39, for the theft of a $19,000 high-speed bicycle taken from a carrier on the rear of a vehicle in a driveway on Inglewood Drive in Moore Park This occurred in the waning daylight hours about 8.30 p.m. in June. The charges are theft of over $5,000 and failure to comply with a probation order. The bicycle has not been found.

There was a fire in a garage early Monday morning in a garage on Killdeer Crescent where it joins Glenvale Blvd in Leaside’s northeast corner. It was quickly extinguished.
