A healthy alternative to other rubs, seasoning and marinades is this line of products made by Chef David at David’s Condiments in Toronto. The large and various line is a staple at Andy Elder’s Grilltime and he has decided to use it on his packaged marinated meat. David Marcus was handing out some delicious grilled chicken Saturday outside Grilltime. He comes to his interest in salt, chemical and gluten-free recipes out of life changing events. His dad died following open heart surgery in 2006 and then his father-in-law was prescribed a strict low-sodium diet. David had to re-invent all his recipes. He turned to reading nutritional labels and realized there were very few gourmet ‘Low Sodium’ seasonings anywhere. This was the beginning of his re-invented recipes. It began with visitors to the cottage who declared David’s new steak rub to huge hit,. His wife made labels and they started sending the rub home with friends all over the world. The rest is a history of considerable success with dozens of savoury rubs available at specialty food markets like Grilltime.

For most, such clothes would be impossible. But the New Circles Community Services of East York has once again collected and displayed the apparel at its Bartley Drive headquarters so students can pick their choice. Nor would any of it happen without the generosity of many people living in South Bayview who make an annual donation to this fine charity. Above we see some good-looking prom dancing shoes and Volunteer worker Alexa Rocca showing a fine pink sequined gown.

Hamilton is at war with Canada Post over group mailboxes
by •
The City of Hamilton is engaged in an all out legal battle to stop the construction of group mailboxes in the City. It is a campaign that has been going on for many months. Yesterday the City laid charges against Canada Post under a new bylaw that would prevent placement of boxes without permission. Residents have blocked construction sites with bushes and other materials. Canada Post is challenging the law in court. The Hamilton vs Canada Post is among the more startling examples of a community determined to stop boxes appearing wherever the post office wants. A court date is expected soon. Hamilton Spectator
