The hard luck little corner store at Millwood Rd and Rumsey Rd is vacant again. The small shop,. which is connected to a residence with a second floor, has had a number of tenants in recent years, but mostly it has been empty. Most  recently the store was occupied by Platinum Sports Fitness. An Esbin sign in the window tells the story. 

Police have released images of the man who shot a TTC ticket attendant at the Dupont subway station last night. The assailant is believed to be a repeat subway bandit. In this incident, having been refused money by the attendant, the bandit walked a few feet away, then turned and shot the attendant point blank. The attendant was injured in the arm and neck but will recover. Some 30 thousand Muscovites formed a nine-mile ring around the city today to call for an end to the rule of Vladimir Putin. One woman (inset) quoted Russian literary giant Anton Chekhov urging Russians to “get the slave out of yourself.”  Opposition leaders say the protests have “changed everything” but Putin is still expected to be re-elected President early in March.
