Judge grants Estee Lauder bid to dump erratic Deciem CEO
by •
Ontario Judge Michael Penny has removed Brandon Truaxe as the CEO of Deciem Cosmetics after hearing testimony that the erratic entrepreneur has “essentially lit the company on fire.” Lawyer Mark Gelowitz, acting for one-third owner Estee Lauder acknowledged that Truaxe might once have been a “diabolical marketing genius building the brand…but he’s gone too far.” Most critically, the Truaxe move to shut down business at the firm’s many stores caused an avalanche of breach of lease complaints and threatened lawsuits from employees. There was also testimony that Truaxe’s Twitter and Instagram rampage was destroying the credibility of the brand. His announcement last week that he was shutting down business made lurid but unexplained allegations of criminality by staff in general. It concluded with a flourish of bitter remarks about his own treatment by others. Cosmetic boss bizarre post blames “criminals” for shutdown

Looking ahead to next week, the Leaside Blood Donors Clinic is Tuesday at Northlea School. At bottom right, new ATM machines at Scotiabank on Bayview glow green. But don’t forget your card.
