Rogers large store in the Sunnybrook Plaza will shrink to half its original size. The end of video rentals means the company needs much less space and it will occupy only half of its previous square footage. Rogers will be located on the Froyo side of the present space. The other half, on the west, is said to be due for rental, perhaps when Rogers lease expires.

Froyo the new buzzword at Sunnybrook Plaza

Yogurty’s comes to Sunnybrook Plaza
by
•The spot in the Sunnybrook Plaza previously occupied by Paws and Claws has been taken by a large chain of franchised frozen yogurt outlets named Yogurty’s. Yorgurty’s apparently started in Toronto in 1987 and in recent years has seen considerable expansion. There is a list of shops on its website both operating and planned almost entirely in Ontario. They number some 25. There are also shops, again both open and planned, in Mexico and Costa Rica. Clearly Yogurty’s is on a roll. The product is said to be rich and creamy frozen yogurt that tastes like ice cream. Meantime, Paws and Claws has moved to South Bayview in the block north of Fleming Cres. .

The LRT station at Eglinton and Bayview
by
•An interesting forum (in which members chat) reveals comments about local features of the Eglinton LRT, when (if) it is built. One entry describes the location of the LRT station at the intersection of Eglinton and Bayview: “The station box starts in the Metro (grocery store) parking lot, basically at the point where cars enter the lot on Eglinton, and stretches east into Sunnybrook Plaza, ending somewhere between the Pharma Plus and the Home Hardware stores. The main entrance will be in the Metro parking lot where the 11 Bayview bus stop is located today, so it is just north of the northwest corner. There will be a secondary entrance at Sunnybrook Plaza, on the northeast corner, where the 34, 51, 54, 56, and 100 buses presently stop. Another secondary entrance will be located in Talbot Park abutting the walkway that leads to Eglinton Avenue.”
