As South Bayview waits and wonders about the large space at 1531, one thing seems very clear. The space to be vacated by Shoppers Drug Mart has absolutely been spoken for. A deal has been done. No other explanation can account for the dead silence which surrounds the future of this property, which is located between Passion Fruit and the CIBC. As we know, there is much speculation that the space will house a dollar store. And just this week Dollarama, the largest dollar store in the country, announced that it intends to expand aggresively — as many as 50 stores within a year. There may be no connection with the Dollarama growth, but tongues will wag after all.
One can hope. We need an accessible Dollarama.
