A team-report in the Toronto Star by writers Kristin Rushowy and Noor Javed says York Region trustee Linda Aversa is accused by school board staff of trying to get them to improve her daughter’s marks. Ms. Aversa denies this and says all her conversations with staff have been correct and suitable to parent-teacher discussion.  A source not named says Ms. Aversa should have known better. The story has sources which say the staff has been discussing this issue for days. Ms. Aversa is quoted by the Star as saying: “As any parent would, I did have appropriate dialogue with my daughter’s school about her education, but I have never asked anyone to boost her marks.”
