A Pickering girl has had a close call in a situation where everyone it seems might have paid closer attention. Little Rebecca Hillier got off the school bus near her home and for whatever reason doesn’t cross the street with the gang. The bus driver retracts the guard and, according to some, waves Rebecca across the street. You can see the girl pause before she crosses and she seems to be looking at the driver. Then she goes and that’s when a car comes out of nowhere and brushes her backpack as it passes. The driver seems most at fault. He absolutely should have come to a full stop.
