Amazon swallows Whole Foods for $13.7 US billion cash

Amazon has swallowed organic grocer Whole Foods in one big bite. The capacity of Amazon to create business has grocery analysts running around in circles Friday. Amazon will pay $42 US a share or $13.7 billion in cash for Whole Foods’ shares, a 27 per cent premium to what Whole Foods was worth on Thursday. There are 13 Whole Foods stores in Canada.
