Early Monday mayhem in Mississauga, Toronto, police say

Peel Region Police have located the Chrysler 300 with Quebec plates that struck an OPP officer during an attempted traffic stop Monday morning. It was abandoned at an apartment complex on Trailwood Drive near Hurontario Street. It was seized and taken to forensic identification services for expert analysis. The hunt goes on the four suspects. The car hit and dragged PC Patrick Chatelain when he tried to stop it near Highway 403 and Hurontario Street. Chatelain was taken to Sunnybrook HSC in serious but not life-threatening condition, according to Peel police. The driver was said to be a black man who was accompanied in the passenger seat by a white woman. There were two other passengers apparently in the rear of the car who have not been described.

SHOOTING ON SUMACH

A man said to be in his 40s is in critical condition after an early morning shooting on Monday. It happened on Sumach Street, just north of Oak Street, around 1:30 a.m.

SKATEBOARDING AT 12.30 A.M.

A skateboarder was hit by a streetcar on Queens Quay West at Rees St. about 12:30 Monday morning. The victim was transported to hospital in non-life threatening condition with a head injury.
