Saturday weather holds for Sarah and Claire’s hamper build

It looks like the Saturday morning weather will hold for events at the Bayview Valu Mart, 1500 Bayview Ave. for those who wish to donate to Sarah and Claire’s Food Drive. The annual building of Thanksgiving hampers will start at 3 p.m.in the parking lot. To the right, Mayor Tory announced the appointment of Ana Bailao (Ward 18 Davenport) as the new deputy mayor representing the Toronto and East York Council. They are seen with Joe Mihevc (Ward 21 St. Paul’s). T&EY sits west of Bayview Ave. Then a shameless promotional picture but nice anyway of three smiling Wildcats (ever seen a Wildcat grin?) on World Smile Day (who knew?). According to the roster they are, from the left, Kasumi Kobo, Quinn Johnston and Kristin Della Rovere. Finally, here’s a fairly well-preserved Oldsmobile Cutlass convertible from 1968 discovered and photographed by Leaside’s Rudy Limeback. It was known as a 442 because it had a 400 cubic inch displacement engine, a four barrel carburetor and twin exhausts. Such history.
