A post at Ann Brown’s Leaside Chit Chat page remembers the long work of David (Sandy) Sandquist, operator of Sandy’s Bikes and Books at 95 Research Rd. It closed when the lease expired on September 30. Mr. Sandquist and his wife have bought a home in Stratford where he expects to find work in an existing cycle business. Leaside readers remark on the specialized nature of the business. There was a section for old bikes and tools that no one else seemed to have. Mr. Sandquist’s interesting amalgam also extended bikes and books to old records and recordings from time to time.
