Three named, hunted in hit and run of toddler, two women

Police have named three people being sought in connection with a dreadful hit and run accident that critically injured a 20-month-old infant and two women Sunday at Ellesmere and Pharmacy Aves. Police are looking for Cory Munroe, 49,  Derek Desousa, 34 and Amanda Rioux, 30,  as persons of interest. They are also seeking public help in finding the vehicle, a silver  2015, Dodge Journey, with Ontario licence plate ANXC 265. Police released a picture of a person said to be a passenger in the Dodge, as seen below.

A grey, 2015, Dodge Journey, with Ontario licence plate ANXC 265, was travelling eastbound on Ellesmere Road, approaching Pharmacy Avenue The vehicle drove past a few stopped vehicles and failed to stop for the red light at the intersection A woman, 57, and a woman, 37, were standing at the southeast corner of the intersection, on the sidewalk, with a 20-month-old child in a stroller The Dodge Journey, crossed the intersection and mounted the sidewalk, striking the pedestrians including the child The vehicle stopped on the sidewalk just east of where the pedestrians were struck Two occupants exited the Dodge Journey and walked around briefly. One of the vehicle’s occupants got back into the vehicle and fled the scene southbound on Pharmacy Avenue The other occupant fled the scene on foot

Two dead, one injured in York Region

York Region police say two people have died and a third is injured after a two-vehicle crash in Vaughan at King-Vaughan Road near Weston Road around 2:45 p.m. Sunday. The condition of the person is injured is unknown at this time and the ages and genders of the victims have yet to be released
