York Regional Police say someone in a tow truck sprayed gunfire at a number of other such trucks gathered in the Loblaws parking lot at Bayview Ave. and High Tech Rd. in Richmond Hill Monday evening about 7 p.m. The trucks were parked in the lot for reasons unknown but operators typically gather on the chance of getting business when an accident is reported on the police radio. The violence suggests that tension between competing operators reached a breaking point. York detectives are appealing for witnesses.
