Writer David Nickle says in Tuesday’s Toronto.com that East York’s Justin Van Dette is helping business people along O’Connor Drive east of St. Clair to form a BIA. The news will be welcome to residents throughout the area. O’Connor stretches some 2.2 kilometres from St. Clair to Victoria Park Ave. Nickle calls it an eclectic mix of businesses. And while there are many proud enterprises along the street, at places the sense of the street is spotty. Along O’Connor, “you have a block of retail, a block of apartment buildings … retail and apartment buildings,” Mr. Van Dette is quoted as saying. “It’s very disruptive, just the way the streetscape is.” Toronto.com
