The Supreme Court of Canada has refused to hear the appeal of Councillor Jim Karygiannis (Ward 22) on his removal from office for violations of the Municipal Elections Act. As a result, Mr Karygiannis must forfeit his seat on the council. A report will go to City Council on September 30 with the option for Council to either appoint or direct a by-election to fill the seat. Karygiannis hoofed from office (again) for $26,000 dinner
