CGS starts Year of the Tiger with balloons, dumpling lessons

February 1 marked the first day of Lunar New Year 2022 and CGS students embraced celebrations with gusto. CGS staff and students arrived at school dressed in red and gold. Some of the staff and students for whom Lunar New Year is part of their heritage wore traditional clothes for the occasion. Everyone was greeted by beautiful and festive balloon arrangements created by Balloons by Mina, a local business. A school-wide virtual assembly included student-led poetry reading, a special Lunar New Year book reading and best of all a dumpling-making demonstration. The virtual assembly was capped off with a dragon parade by each classroom.
