Toronto Fire Services extinguished a fire in the early hours of Saturday morning at Mexico Lindo restaurant (1618 Bayview Ave). The apartment above the restaurant is vacant and there were no injuries reported. Our thoughts are with Mexico Lindo, which had recently reopened after addressing damages caused by a break-in.
Someone has been after this family owned restaurant since late 2023. This was definitely a case of arson. So sad and unfortunate to see this happen.

So sad. These restaurant owners are such nice people and only want to be there for their loyal customers. And unfortunately there’s a family feud going on regarding the building owners so the restaurant is constantly getting caught in the crossfire. So sad. I hope they come back just to spite them once again. And I’ll be there to support their return.
We are local to this restaurant and will continue to support Martin and his family. Perhaps a GoFundMe may be helpful to get them back up and running.
