Brrr! Temperatures go down as clock falls back
by •
South B-b-ayview weather had shoppers bundling up and maybe regretting they left the gloves at home. It is — as they say — well below seasonal along our favorite high street and all the other great South Bayview places like Mount Pleasant Village. It was darn cold there too. These pictures of way-too-much snow were snapped as Bulldog co-publisher Sue Byford visited Stouffville today. The clock gets turned back an hour tonight as standard time begins. The 14-day outlook for South Bayview in November suggests that temperatures will move to seasonal levels as we approach mid-month. Saturday, November 15, for example, of projected tp see a high of 15 degrees Celisus. DEW, De La Mer have birthdays on Bayview

Leaside chocolate sculptor Laura Slack has been profiled in the Toronto Star on a day when her delicious inventions are popular for Halloween. Her factory is in the low-rise building at 206 Parkhurst Blvd where the street become a cul de sac east of Laird Drive. Laura told Michelle Henry that she has been on a production campaign to stock up for this busy time. Laura’s goods are sold at her own Distillery District storefront, Maisonette, and at Holt Renfrew and McEwan Grocery in the Shops at Don Mills,. Laura’s website tells us that the 31-year-old is a graduate of the University of Toronto in Science and of the George Brown College Baking and Pastry Arts Program. Her Lion’s Paw Liquid Salted Caramel Truffle is also featured on the dessert menu at Note Bene restaurant.
