Vandals smashed a window at the Wild Wing location on the northwest corner of Bayview Ave. and Millwood Rd. in recent hours. Such vandalism is contemptible at any time but especially difficult as local businesses struggle to stay open. The owner has published a defiant post on Facebook. We wish him good fortune.

Amid the uproar over a recall of Toro snowblowers for fear of an amputation concern, Peel Region Police have posted this photo of two blowers precariously hanging on a bicycle rack.

Those 80 and over to get the vaccine in March

The Ontario government said Friday that citizens over 80 will join those with priority for a vaccine shot in the next week or two. “We want to be able to start vaccinating those 80 years of age and older, and we will be reaching out to them in the next week to two weeks to tell them when their opportunity is going to become available, and where they can go to book their appointments, either online or through a phone line, and where they can get their information,” Gen. Rick Hillier, who leads Ontario’s vaccination effort, said at a news conference.

Lake enhanced snowfall is expected to locally boost snowfall amounts to 10 to 15 cm in parts of the west end of the Greater Toronto Area. Accumulating snow could cause poor driving conditions, and impact the commute this evening and Friday morning. The localized nature of lake enhanced snow means that snowfall intensity and accumulations may vary considerably between nearby locations.

Actions:
Drivers should plan to give themselves extra time to reach their destination.
If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
