Bayview Biz: Fresh additions to our diverse restaurant scene

Signs have been posted announcing the openings of two new restaurant options for the Bayview-Leaside BIA.

Hermie’s will be setting up shop at 1595 Bayview Ave. They closed their popular Filipino & Canadian restaurant at 701 Queen Street East on October 29th, 2023, with hints of a new location on their social media feeds.

Zzavía, is a new pizza place that is set to open at 1597 Bayview Avenue. Their banner says “Reimagine Pizza”. Intriguing, we’re looking forward to it! (A Turkish restaurant was supposed to be opening at 1597 and 1599 Bayview Avenue, but from what we could see through the windows, they started demolition of huge space in 2022, but all work stalled after that.)

Grand opening specials at My Roti Place/My Dosa Place (1574 Bayview Avenue). On December 6th, starting at 11:00am, they will have select dishes including Butter Chicken Roti and Channa Masala Roti (Vegan) on offer for only $4.99.

Bayview holiday shopping: Meet Santa & Shop Local!

Discover the joy of the season with the Bayview-Leaside BIA as Santa and carolers will be strolling along Bayview on two special Saturdays, December 2nd and December 9th, from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm.

It’s a delightful opportunity to infuse your local holiday shopping with a festive spirit. Don’t miss the chance to capture a magical moment with Santa himself – snap a selfie and spread the holiday cheer by tagging @bayviewleasidebia. 🙂

Bayview Avenue buzzes with new salons, and high tea!

Bayview Avenue is abuzz as two new salons will set the neighbourhood’s style quotient soaring.

At 1707 Bayview Ave, the newly unveiled Nook Salon introduces Kenedi, an Aveda Certified Educator turned salon owner, and a maestro of hair with 14 years of artistry under her belt.

Adding to the buzz, the forthcoming Shave & Shears Barbershop Company at 1609 Bayview Ave promises to offer men “a unique space where men can truly escape, unwind, and pamper themselves”. Combining the cozy ambiance of a café and the expertise of a barbershop, it’s poised to be the go-to spot for grooming while sipping on a cuppa.

Speaking of cuppas, Tiarré’s Brunch ‘N Cakes at 1614 Bayview Ave invites guests to a High Tea experience on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 4 pm to 8 pm. Indulge in delightful sandwiches, decadent sweets, and a variety of teas for a touch of elegance at tea time.

In other news, signs indicate that the former haunt of “Bad Blowfish Cafe” at 1595 Bayview Ave has found a new lease on life, sparking curiosity. Stay tuned!

Bayview chronicles: New beginnings, milestones & farewells

In the ever-changing landscape of Bayview Avenue, recent developments have both delighted and saddened the community.

On October 14th, Suzan Galluzzo Nutrition & Wellness celebrated the grand opening of her new Toronto location at 465 Manor Road East. Mystery solved up at 1685 Bayview, where a soon-to-arrive medical center and pharmacy have been officially announced on big signs in their windows. Adding to our tapestry of options, Dotty, a boutique specializing in “pretty clothes for real life,” recently opened its doors at 469 Manor Rd E., Suite 202. Drink Juice Co. celebrated eight fruitful years on October 14th, with an anniversary sale and vibrant customer appreciation party, transforming its patio into a hub of festivity. However, there is a touch of sadness to report, as the Bad Blowfish Cafe at 1595 Bayview Ave has closed its doors. Their cafe is now up for lease.
