The apartment above the restaurant is vacant and there were no injuries reported. Our thoughts are with Mexico Lindo, which had recently reopened after addressing damages caused by a break-in.

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper at St. Cuthbert’s Feb 13th
by •
Indulge in a delicious Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper at St. Cuthbert’s, Leaside, on February 13, 2024, from 5:30 pm to 7:15 pm. All are welcome!
Why Shrove Tuesday and What’s with the Pancakes?
Shrove Tuesday marks the traditional feast day before the beginning of Lent on Ash Wednesday. As Lent was historically a time of fasting, Christians would go to confession and be “shriven” (absolved) on Shrove Tuesday. This feast day served as the last opportunity to use up eggs, fats, and sugar before the Lenten fast, making pancakes the perfect culinary choice for the occasion.
