How about this. It seems at least possible that all these homes, just like some along the Line 2 subway, will hear the passing of trains when the Crosslinx is finished.
Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada says it will start building the Lexus NX SUV in its Cambridge plant starting in 2022. The plant will produce both a standard and hybrid version of the vehicle to supply the North American market. Toyota will add capacity at the plant after announcing in March that it would shift production of the hybrid RAV4 SUV in Cambridge to its plant in Georgetown, Kentucky. A genuinely alarming attack by several teenagers on a home on Eglinton Ave. between Rumsey Rd. and Sutherland Drive has been reported to police. It is also the subject of a post on Leaside Community. The post is written by a man who says he has the homeowner’s permission to write about this harrowing occurrence which apparently happened Saturday night. He writes as follows: “Last night at about 10 p.m. 10 to 12 male teenagers about 16 to 18 years old, wearing typical sports clothing, were trying to break into the (homeowner’s) SUV. He chased them away.”
RINGLEADERS HAD SHAVED HEADS
“He said the ringleaders were two boys with shaved heads, not tall, who looked like they could be brothers (not to say they are) At 11:30 they returned. Threw a rock through the rear window of the SUV and at a rear door panel leaving a large dent. They then threw a rock through one of the side panels of the 3 panel front window of their semi-detached. By the time he got outside they were rounding the corner from Eglinton to south on Rumsey. He has reported to police and said he would recognize 3 or 4 of them if he saw them again.”
It’s not unknown for spectators in the gallery of the Legislature to interrupt the proceedings. Sometimes it’s just name-calling but this high school student, apparently one of a number present Monday, wanted to demand faster action on the environment. She was escorted out. Avengers: Endgame has made box office history by surpassing $1 billion US globally at the box office during its opening weekend. That’s in a span of merely five days. The final film in the blockbuster franchise, which sees superheroes such as Captain America, Iron Man and Thor reunite for one last battle to save the universe together, has reached an estimated $1.2 billion worldwide so far. The Canadian Armed Forces are in Bracebridge Sunday to try to stem the damage of the flooding Muskoka River. City News reporter Erica Natividad is in the town known as the Heart of Muskoka reporting and taking the photos seen in this gallery. Mayor Graydon Smith says a total of 60 reservists from Toronto are being deployed with 30 already in the area assisting with sandbagging and delivery efforts and another 30 on the way. Smith says 27,000 sandbags have been distributed up to this point. “This flood event is not over yet, sadly,” said Mr. Smith.
MAYOR ANGRY AT JET SKIS, TOURIST BOAT
The mayor denounced people on jet skis and a boat at the mouth of the river “touring around” on Saturday. “First of all its very dangerous for them to be doing it due to the massive amount of debris in the water and how fast the water is moving,” explained Smith. “Second of all, there are people down there actively trying to sandbag their properties and then they had to deal with this wake off these watercraft that were going through there.”
Durham police say they have found human remains in a heavily wooded area near the Oshawa Creek. The discovery was made by a fisherman Saturday afternoon. A post-mortem is planned. Anyone with information pertaining to this investigation is asked to call Detective Constable Paul Grigoriou of the Central East Criminal Investigation Bureau at 1-888-579-1520. ext. 2737. A ticket holder in British Columbia claimed the $7 million jackpot in Saturday night’s Lotto 649 draw. The draw’s $1 million guaranteed prize went to a lottery player in Ontario. The jackpot for the next Lotto 649 draw on May 1 will be approximately $5 million.

A volunteer confronted Justin Trudeau during a visit to a flood zone near Ottawa on Saturday, accusing the prime minister of holding up the line while people were filling sandbags. Trudeau was in the Ottawa-Gatineau area to be briefed by emergency management officials and help with sandbagging efforts after heavy rain caused water to rise to dangerous levels. He had worked with his son to fill the bags and then took photos with some troops in Constance Bay on the Ottawa River. Then a man who was a volunteer pointed out that it was not possible to pick up sandbags while the PM and his entourage were there. Among other things, the angry man said he would not vote for Mr. Trudeau.
MORE THAN 2,000 COMMENTS IN TWO HOURS
The many comments written in response reveal a lot of interest in the incident. They are a bit conventional however. They range from “Notice how there are less and less Liberal MPs showing up for Justin’s photo ops?” to “Oh look there’s the PM. I will go over a slow things down by complaining to him that he’s slowing things down. And rather than spend time filling more sandbags I’ll stop and complain to the PM.
