The ingenious baker Craig’s Cookies will open its third shop in Toronto soon at 1581 Bayview Ave. They’ve taken down the rather cumbersome wooden patio in front of the shop to provide direct access for excited fans of the firm’s interesting products. To a considerable extent, it seems that Craig’s Cookies are stuffed with other people’s goods, like Rice Krispies, Reeses Pieces, Nutella, Mars Bars and Oreo. But there are other more generic cookie types such as Apple Pie and Maple Bacon. They’re in the oven.

Two window washers have been rescued from a ledge near the top of the Canada Square building at 2180 Yonge St. Thursday after their platform fell to the ground and left one of the men dangling. He was hauled to safety on the ledge by his co-worker as seen in the dramatic picture taken by Mark Norman. The Toronto Fire Service tweeted at about 1.15 p.m. that the two men had been brought safely inside the building after a window was smashed to permit entry.
