The Ministry of Health has reported 308 new COVID-19 cases Monday. The number comes amidst massive testing across the province. Close to 50,000 tests have been done in just the past 72 hours in an effort to find as many sources of infection as possible. Monday’s case count is slightly higher than Sunday’s 294 cases, the lowest recorded in more than six weeks. Television presenter Joyce Inez Davidson-Susskind was 89

Television personality Joyce Inez Davidson-Susskind has died at the age of 89 from complications of the COVID-19 virus. She was a resident at the Meighan Manor home on Millwood Rd. Joyce Davidson first appeared on the CBC as a presenter on the early evening public affairs program Tabloid. She later hosted The Joyce Davidson Show. Her career continued in the US where she worked with well-known presenters such as Dave Garroway and Mike Wallace. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. New virus cases sink amid furious testing but deaths mount

The Ministry of Health reports 347 new cases of COVID-19 infection, a heartening low. This is especially so in the context of the furious testing being done across the province. The past 24 hours have seen 19,227 tests completed. Saturday’s case count is the lowest since 309 new cases were reported on April 6 at a time when there were far fewer tests being done.
