Monday it has a spread of photos showing the two coming and going from their home. Mr. Mulroney is seen slipping on ice near his car. Jessica Mulroney is a close friend of the duchess. The story says she was in British Columbia until recently helping to care for Prince Archie while Meghan returned to London where she and Harry announced their go-it-alone plan.

Meg on phone as Queen, Harry and William plot strategy
by •
Meghan Markle is in Canada, almost certainly Toronto, as Her Majesty has called in her grandsons to plot strategy. Harry and Megan shocked the Queen by announcing out of nowhere on Wednesday that they will, in effect, go their own way. It isn’t clear just what they mean by that but a breakaway can be seen as weakening the monarchy. Meghan will apparently participate in the meeting by phone. It is set for Monday.

Issued at 3.41 p.m. ET: Rainfall, combined with melting snow, is expected. The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall. Rain will continue into this evening with total rainfall amounts of 40 to 60 mm expected by midnight. Since the ground is frozen, the winter rainfall warning criterion of 25 mm in 24 hours is being met. For information concerning flooding, please consult your local conservation authority or Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry district office. The rain will change over to freezing rain in most beginning later this evening as temperatures dip to near the zero degree mark.
Freezing rain this evening
Freezing rain warnings are in effect for areas just north and east of Toronto, and may be extended into areas from Toronto and west tonight as needed. Brisk west winds gusting to 60 km/h will herald the end of the precipitation Sunday morning.

All these annoying people who don’t want to be run by the Beijing Communists. Tiny little Taiwan has done it again by re-electing Tsai Ing-wen as its president for the next four years. Now, says Bloomberg News, China needs to learn to live with it. It can double down on hostility, or try some pragmatic steps that set up the long-term prospect of living together amicably, rather than pushing formulas for unification that Taiwanese won’t accept.
