A woman has been badly hurt in a two-car crash at Bayview Ave and Soudan/Parkhurst Sunday afternoon. The victim, about 50, was unconscious as she was taken to Sunnybrook Medical Sciences Centre. The intersection is the subject of long-time concern and is especially dangerous because of the construction at Eglinton. There is also speculation about the nature of a crosswalk beside an intersection. A recurring danger is the inability of westbound drivers crossing over Bayview seeing southbound vehicles if the crosswalk is being used or a vehicle turning left onto Parkhurst is blocking line of sight. Last year the South Leaside Traffic Committee recommended certain turn prohibitions.  Residents are said to dislike the solution of stop lights. Kristsin Della Rovere and Quinn Johnston are accepted at the Ontario Women’s Hockey Association camp and Myah Bowal and Kate Stuart are heading to the BC Hockey Female camp.

Dragon families from Davisville Public School and Spectrum Alternative School rocked the playground Saturday at the annual Spring Fair. The Cakewalk game looked a lot like Musical Chairs. It’s all good.

Toronto Fire has fought a two-alarm blaze at the Merton-Yonge Condominium at the corner of Yonge and Merton Sts beside the Belt Line Trail Saturday.  TFS active incidents says as many as 20 trucks attended the fire.

A teen student from China has died as a result of injuries received in the traffic accident Wednesday at Bayview Ave. and Burleigh Heights Drive. Two girls, 18, ran across Bayview on their way to Royal Crown Academic School at 3080 Bayview when they were hit by a car. No charges have been laid against the woman, 42, who was driving. Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman epic is soaring to a $100 million opening weekend at the North American box office, estimates showed Friday. Should the first projections hold for the Warner Bros. sensation Wonder Woman and director Patty Jenkins will set a record for the top debut weekend for a film directed by a woman. Walmart will now enlist its store employees to deliver packages to customers’ homes using their own cars in an effort to make its delivery system more competitive.In its most recent move against e-commerce challenger Amazon, the discount retailer announced Thursday that it will allow store employees to opt into a delivery service program that will have them drop off packages at customers’ homes on their drive home from work — Money Magazine

Forum Research has published a poll 18 months before the 2018 mayoral election which suggests that Mayor Tory and his old opponent Doug Ford are running more or less neck and neck in advance of the election year. For his part, Mr. Ford says he has an exploratory team at work on a possible run. But the Etobicoke businessman is well-known for his interest in provincial politics as well.
