The chilling tale is a warning. USA Today
AT&T buys CNN, HBO, TNT and others for 85 bln U.S.
by •
It’s official. AT&T will buy Time Warner for $107.50 per share, or $85.4 billion U.S. They announced the agreement Saturday night, following a string of reports in recent days that appeared to have accelerated the talks between the two companies. The move means AT&T will own networks like CNN, HBO, TNT, and several other media properties. AT&T will likely face a harsh regulatory process, but there is some precedent. Comcast, another operator, was allowed to buy NBC Universal in 2013 — Business Insider.

Mayor Tory tours Bayview BIA on Apple Fest Saturday
by •
John Tory, this is your life. No seriously, Your Worship, thanks for visiting South Bayview on the first of two Apple Fest days. The second is Sunday. The mayor is quite popular. A notable public official will find both acquaintances and total strangers (see headline slider photo) to share a shutter-click or two. We see Josh Matlow (Ward 22) and Patrick Rocca on the scene. The crisp and sunny Saturday was a boon to the BIA Apple event. A good first go at what should become a tradition.
