City forgets to put East York flag on signs at 850 Coxwell

east york feat

And don’t forget!

City of Toronto will repaint signs outside East York Civic Centre after the iconic symbol of the former borough was left out of new signs put up as part of renovations. Many have seen the oversight as more like a act of sabotage — an attempt to extend downtown hegemony over the fiercely independent East York nation. The City is required to include the logo of the former borough on all signage at the 850 Coxwell Ave. offices but that was missed when two new signs were installed in mid-September. Guardians of the community — people like Mary Fragedakis (Ward 29) East York champion Justin Van Dette and others were quick to complain. On guard for three.
